ACCESS IN FOYERS & VENUES

The Helix offers easy access throughout the building, with double door access to all venues and lift access between all floors. There is Braille on all elevator buttons.

The Box Office and Shop have low counters for easy access, and the Bar also has an area of lower counter level to facilitate wheelchair users.

The Mahony Hall: This venue can accommodate up to 8 wheelchair spaces in total, 6 on the Ground Floor and 2 on the Second Floor.

The Theatre: This venue can accommodate up to 6 wheelchair spaces in total, 4 on the Ground Floor & 2 on the First Floor.

The Space: The number of wheelchair spaces in The Space depends on the show, the type of seating in use and the size of the set. Our Box Office staff will be happy to advise you on this at the time of booking.

To ensure that you are seated in the correct area of the auditorium, please inform the Box Office 01 700 7000 when you book your tickets of any special requirements for seating and our operators will be happy to advise you on accessibility at The Helix and suitable seating.

Seats booked for wheelchair users will be offered at the lowest available price in the auditorium for that performance, regardless of location.

In addition to this seat, wheelchair users will be offered an accompanying ticket at the same price beside or nearby the wheelchair position. Any other parties accompanying the wheelchair user will be required to pay the full price applicable to their seat.

All wheelchair seating is subject to availability. Please see above for further information on wheelchair availability in each venue.

ACCESSIBLE TOILET FACILITIES

There is 1 accessible toilet on each floor, with adapted fittings such as hand rails and support bars.  Each toilet is also fully alarmed. Dimensions of doors: 835mm wide.

HEARING DOGS & GUIDE DOGS

Only Hearing Dogs & Guide Dogs are welcome at The Helix. No other animals are allowed in the building.

INFRA-RED HEARING LOOP SYSTEM

For customers with hearing impairments we offer an infra-red hearing loop system in all three venues. Receivers can be booked in advance through the Box Office and must be mentioned at the time of booking.

• There are specific seating areas where the reception is optimised, our Box Office staff will be happy to advise on these areas subject to availability.

• The Helix strongly recommends that patrons wishing to make use of our hearing loop system arrive approximately twenty minutes early allowing you to test the levels prior to the performance.

• Sound quality is ambient and reverberant for acoustic shows and quality improves for amplified shows.
